The incumbent Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North Constituency, Sheila Bartels has lost it seat to Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie in the Greater Region in 2024 NPP Parliamentary General Election.
Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie in an interview with mymctvonline.com expressed her joy and gratitude to those who voted her again into power after she lost in 2020 election.

“I have come again and we have to come together with unity as a party and start working harder immediately. Also, we are coming to work harder as a party members in order to break the 8”. she said.
She also urged the delegates to forgive and forget the past issues that has occurred in the constituency and rather focus on 2024 general election.

She therefore plead to the incumbent MP for Ablekuma North Constituency, Sheila Bartels to rally behind her to help push the agenda of their party.
“After my opponent won 2020 election, i supported her from the very day i lost. However, i also need her to join me to work together to achieve the goal ahead of the party “breaking the 8”.
