Making a statement of the floor of Parliament, the MP for Nsuta Kwaman Beposo, Adelaide Agyeiwaa Ntim described Daddy Lumba, as a culture icon who was more than musician and called for a state burial.

paying a tribute to the late musical icon, she noted that Lumba’s songs span generation, touching of love, life, hardship, and celebration.

She said, “DL’s contributions to Ghana’s music industry are invaluable.

According to her, Daddy Lumba was a pioneer of high life and hip life gener, mentoring many artists

Hon. Ntim, on behalf of her constituents and traditional leaders in Nsuta kwaman, appealed to the government to consider awarding national honours, including a state assisted funeral and establishing an initiative to preserve and promote his musical legacy.

On her part, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North, Hon Theresa Lardi Awuni expressed her deep condolences following the passing of Ghana’s highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu.

Speaking on the floor of parliament, hon. Lardi Awuni noted that Daddy Lumba’s music goes beyond entertainment.

She described his songs as powerful messages of hope and unity that resonate with Ghanaians across all walks of life

The Majority Caucus is seeking to address key government business items, including adopting the Thirty-Fourth Report of the Appointments Committee, which will see the approval of the new Ministers designated by the President and a motion on a $150 million loan facility.

The Caucus also aims to tackle several key items, including considering a motion for an “Additional Financing Agreement between GoG and the IDA for an amount of US$150 million to finance the ongoing Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) Project” and also a “Request for Tax Exemption for selected beneficiaries under the 1D1F Programme.”
