According to him, the NDC anticipated that the economy would be in dire straits, hoping this would facilitate their path to victory on December 7 directing their MPs to obstruct government initiatives since January 2017, but this expectation has not materialized.

Addressing the press today, Ahiagba explained that the NDC’s behavior in Parliament stems from a purported operational document belonging to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This document allegedly instructs their members on various disruptive and unfair tactics aimed at enhancing their chances of regaining power in 2024.

He added that the NDC minority has been consistently disruptive and uncooperative, and this document serves as evidence of their long-term strategy. He cited specific instances, such as blocking the passage of critical revenue measures in the 2022 Budget, including the MDA Fees and Charges Bill, the Tax Exemption Bill, and the E-Levy Bill. Notably, the NDC minority executed directives from the document by obstructing the E-Levy, a crucial revenue measure.

Richard Ahiagba further remarked on the evolving situation in Parliament, where the NDC appears to be working toward achieving majority status, allegedly with the support of the Speaker.

He criticized the Speaker’s involvement as part of a concerning plan to assist the NDC minority in claiming majority status illegitimately, labeling it a new low for any Speaker of Parliament and a Statesman.

He urged Ghanaians to seek out a copy of the NDC’s 11-chapter document, which allegedly outlines strategies for gaining power by any means necessary, predominantly through unfair tactics.

Richard Ahiagba expressed confidence that Ghanaians would vote for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP, as the NDC has yet to present a compelling vision for improving the country.
