On Sunday, 25th September, KFC Ghana kicked off its Christmas mission by putting smiles on the faces of over 300 children in the James Town community. This meaningful gesture marks the beginning of a series of impactful activities, with the brand’s commitment to feeding 1,000 underprivileged children this holiday season.

Partnering with celebrated Ghanaian musician Gasmilla, KFC Ghana joined his annual tradition of feeding and entertaining children in James Town.

The collaboration saw KFC donating over 300 delicious meals, ensuring that children and their families experienced a memorable moment of joy and warmth during the festive season.

Speaking at a media briefing, a representative from KFC Ghana reaffirmed the company’s dedication to uplifting local communities:

“This initiative highlights our unwavering commitment to sharing meals and creating moments of joy, fostering hope, unity, and goodwill during this special time of year,” the spokesperson said.

In addition to the James Town donation, KFC Ghana will continue its goodwill efforts with a Street Kids Donation Drive on Friday, 20th December, and a donation to the Kinder Orphanage in Prampram in partnership with the Lions Club.

The collaboration with Gasmilla and KFC’s broader outreach efforts reflect the company’s deep belief in the power of giving back. By prioritizing love, unity, and shared experiences, KFC Ghana is not only providing meals but also building stronger communities and inspiring hope this Christmas season.

World Food Day is a global event celebrated on October 16th every year to raise awareness about the international campaigns to end hunger and ensure that every individual has access to nutritious food. World Food Day’s objectives are to eradicate hunger, ensure food security, boost agricultural productivity, and support a sustainable food system.

This year’s celebration is under the theme, “Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future,” emphasizes the importance of ensuring access to nutritious food as a foundation for a healthier and more prosperous society.

KFC’s initiative, according to the Company aligns with this message, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by addressing both global hunger and the needs of local communities. The donation aims to ensure that underprivileged children especially orphans and street Children have access to nutritious meals.

In observing the day, KFC distributed its popular “Streetwise wings meal”  along with its newest offering, “KFC Kokoo” (fried plantain), to over 200 children from the Nyame Dea Orphanage in East Legon (Nana Krom), the Nungua Orphanage, and the Teshie Orphanage.

Priscilla Adzo, Head of Digital Media Marketing at KFC Ghana, highlighted the company’s dedication to the cause: “At KFC, we believe that access to nutritious food is a fundamental right. Through this donation drive, we aim to contribute towards creating a healthier future for Ghana’s most vulnerable children. We are proud to celebrate World Food Day with this initiative, which reflects our brand’s commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.”

Paul Anaba, Founder and Executive Director of Nyame Dea Orphanage, expressed his gratitude to KFC for the support: “This generous gesture has brought joy to the vulnerable children at our orphanage, as well as others who will benefit. Something as simple as a meal can raise awareness for critical causes and significantly impact lives. We hope this event will make a difference in the lives of many, especially orphans and street children.”

Mr. Anaba also called on the public to join KFC in its efforts to promote food security, urging broader support for creating a more sustainable and healthier future for all.
