Power and Energy Ghana Expo 2024 Commences

The Power and Energy Ghana Expo has officially begun at the Accra International Conference Centre, running from November 6-8, 2024. Dubbed ‘Power and Energy Ghana Expo 2024,’ this event unites global manufacturers and exporters of power, energy, electrical, and engineering products with Ghanaian and West African partners, distributors, and customers.

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Trade & Industries, the expo expects to draw thousands of professional visitors from the power and electrical engineering industries, with over 100 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge products and innovations.

At the inauguration, Ghana Union of Traders Association President Dr. Joseph Obeng emphasized the need for sensitizing Ghanaians on energy efficiency programs and regulations. Key areas of focus include renewable energy, energy efficiency, power transmission, and distribution.

Exhibitors will showcase solutions like solar photovoltaic systems, energy monitoring gadgets, and decentralized power systems. Dr. Obeng noted the expo’s potential to boost Ghana’s economy through increased trade, job creation, and improved energy infrastructure.

“This Expo is expected to greatly benefit Ghana’s economy in areas such as increased trade and investments, job creation and improve energy structure”.

Indian High Commissioner H.E. Shri Manish Gupta stressed energy’s role in economic growth, citing benefits for industrial production, healthcare, and education. He urged investment in the sector.

Chief Director for the Energy Ministry, Mrs. Wilhemina Asamoah, highlighted the ministry’s commitment to sustainable energy, citing a significant increase in local manufacturing output over the past five years. She expressed hopes for increased partnerships, innovations, and investments contributing to Ghana’s energy independence.”
