In a candid interview with Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu, shared on social media on August 11, 2025, hiplife musician Okomfo Kwadee warned the youth about the dangers of opioids, specifically “Red” or “225”, a highly addictive substance. Drawing from his personal experience with mental health issues and substance abuse, Kwadee urged young people to avoid such substances.
“Doctors have warned against taking ‘Red’ because it can be fatal,” he said. “Substances like ‘Red’, tramadol, and other stimulants offer no benefits. Instead, I encourage the youth to engage in activities that will positively impact their lives.”
Kwadee, who has experimented with stimulants in the past, cautioned fellow musicians against marijuana and other harmful substances, highlighting the influence of foreign lifestyles. “It’s become trendy, but they should note that smoking forever isn’t an option because it’s not beneficial,” he added.
By sharing his personal struggles and advice, Okomfo Kwadee aims to raise awareness and promote healthier choices among the youth.
