Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III passes on at 91

The Asante Kingdom is plunged into mourning after the passing of the revered Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III. At an emergency meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council on Monday, the Oyoko Family confirmed her passing to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, noting that she was the second most powerful figure in Asanteman.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, born Nana Ama Konadu, served as the 14th Asantehemaa and was the biological sister of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Her regal presence at the Manhyia Palace embodied stability and unity, not just within the royal family but across the entire Asanteman kingdom.

According to family sources, Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away at dawn on August 7, 2025. Details surrounding her passing remain sparse.

Following traditional protocols, the Manhyia Palace will make an official announcement to the public and detail funeral arrangements once all necessary rites have been observed.
