The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in partnership with the Ga Mantse Foundation, has unveiled massively the refurbished and renovated King Tackie Tawiah I Cluster of Schools in Accra.
The unveiling of the newly renovated and massively improved King Takie Tawiah I Cluster of Schools in Adabraka, Accra, Ghana initiative was fully funded by the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints as they seeks to unlock a brighter future for the future of Adabraka and its environs through education.
The newly refurbished and improved school now boasts of a newly built library stocked with more than 2,000 books, a newly built ICT center with 40 fully installed and connected computers and accessories.
Also, a renovated 12-unit Mantse Takie Tawiah block, a renovated 6-unit Liberty Avenue block, a renovated Mantse Tackie Tawiah KG block, a renovated Liberty Avenue ICT Laboratory and office, a newly built astro turf football pitch and 60 seater spectator stand.

Other facilities include a newly constructed 8-seater toilet facility with urinals and changing rooms for girls, a newly constructed 100-seater canteen, a renovated 20-seater toilet facility, a new fence wall and additional perimeter upgrades including drainage, new pavements and landscaping and also additional new security post and upgraded entrance to the school.
Speaking at the ceremony, Elder S. Gifford Neilsen, the Africa West Area President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, expressed enthusiasm in the project that has been completed as he says it is a way of supporting the education system within the area.
He also noted that the church is committed to ensuring that they undertake their corporate social responsibilities to the people as he revealed that the church is collaborating with the Ga Mantse Foundation to build ten (10) boreholes for 10 communities within the Ga Damgbe area to help situations of water challenges.

The Ga Mantse, who also doubles as the President of the Ga Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II stated that, this occasion marks a major milestone in the history of the Ga Damgbe community as he says, this is a way of investing into the education of the children within Ga Damgbe to brighten their future.

He therefore encouraged the teaching of Ga and Damgbe languages in all schools with the Ga state he appealed to corporate Ghana to invest in education in the Country thereby calling for a similar redevelopment of other Cluster of Schools in the Ga state.
On his part, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover stressed that this project is a testament to how traditional authorities can use their authority to seek support for their communities as he believes this is a great project that will go a long way out to support the school children within the Ga state.

He therefore admonished the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Klottey Korle to make budgetary allocation for the redeveloped King Tackie Tawiah I Cluster of Schools that they will use to maintain the school and its facilities.
Representing the Minister for Education, a Deputy Minister for Education who doubles as the MP for Kwadaso, Prof Kingsley Nyarko also said, this redevelopment of the King Tackie Tawiah I Cluster of Schools forms part of the government’s agenda of extending education to every Ghana and they are pleased with this, therefore he calls on all to support the promotion to better education system for the Ghanaian Child.
