20,000 TRADE FAIR REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT WILL HELP ADDRESS SEATING CAPACITY AND SUPPORT CREATIVE ART PROGRAMS – DR BAWUMI

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has identified the Ghana Trade Fair Convention and Exhibition Center as a significant development for the creative arts sector, aiming to improve upon the longstanding issue of insufficient event seating capacity.

The ongoing project is anticipated to be finished within eight months, with a 20,000-seat capacity and a 5,000-square-metre pre-event lobby.

During a visit to the construction site on November 25, Dr. Bawumia stressed that some key pillars for the growth of the economy, which lies in the tourism and art industry, needs development and areas of infrastructure building, is key to achieving that.

He said that having a huge infrastructure spacing capacity will also boost the hosting of programs that he believes will increase revenue generation that will end up boosting the economy.

The NPP Flagbearer said Ghana does not have such a huge infrastructure capacity center but says this 20,000 infrastructure is the best for the country and its creative art and other activities.

He said many opportunities will be generated through this project as he says he is impressed with the work done so far by the contractors and commend them.

Dr Bawumia expressed optimism that, by the next 8 months which is the deadline for the completion of the project, he will be the one to commission it as he says he will be president of Ghana by then.

He assured the creative art industry that this project would be beneficial to them and that it would whip the interest of Ghanaians in this sector.

The Vice President said the government has decided to undertake a Public Private Partnership in the creative art space which he says is a game chancer as he added that, their manifesto will ensure that, 30 billion cedis will be dedicated to this sector in the creative art industry each year.
